Lionesses star Georgia Stanway scored a crucial goal as Bayern Munich Frauen retained their Bundesliga crown after a 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

With Bayern knowing victory at Leverkusen would clinch the Frauen-Bundesliga title, England ace Stanway put her side ahead in the 18th minute before team-mate Linda Dallmann's strike put the visitors in control nine minutes later. Nikola Karczewska scored just after the hour mark to set up a nervy finish but Bayern held on to win the league – for the second year running – and keep their unbeaten run intact.

This is Stanway's second league title since swapping Manchester City for Bayern in 2022. Last season, they won the league by just two points but this time around they have a seven point lead over their nearest rivals.

Bayern are looking to stay unbeaten through the whole season for just the second time in history during their final two league matches against Nurnberg and Hoffenheim. So far, they have won 17 and drawn three of their 20 league fixtures.
